Los Angeles-based Phlo Finister is our newest feature “All the bass players are really cool,” Phlo Finister gushes. “I’ve always dreamed of singing really low, like the bass, so I figure if I can play it, I can sing like that.” Our newest feature is R&B songstress Phlo Finister, who has captured the attention of everyone from Rolling Stone to Complex but hasn't even released an LP yet. Blending musical genres in her breakthrough tracks like "Bang Bang" and "Shades" and styling herself in mod looks and makeup for her videos, Phlo is a self-proclaimed Youth Quaker who you'll be hearing more and more of in the weeks to come. Especially since said LP (to be titled Youth Quaker) is set to drop this year. We caught up with Phlo in her hometown of sunny California to shoot with photographer Hayden Shiebler and stylist Natasha Newman-Thomas at the pool. When in Cali...
