Following in the footsteps of our own featured artist, Fifi Lapin, Tomokazu Matsuyama has been named the new Artist In Residence for LeSportsac. Leaving the cute bunny prints behind, the American handbag company has gone with a more contemporary edge this time. Having grown up in both Japan and the US, Matsuyama has tunneled his mixed identity into his paintings. Attempting to express ‘natural chaos in our social environment’ his use of bright colors and eye-fulfilling patterns makes him the perfect candidate for the new residency. The fresh collection designed for LSS definitely is an eye full and two patterns are currently available--one gingham print, and another original design true to Tomokazu Matsuyama’s style.
