Jonnie Craig “Untitled”

Monday, January 9th, 2012

Good luck getting your hands on Jonnie Craig’s “blurred, fogged” and “brilliant” book VICE Magazine’s talented, young in-house photographer, Jonnie Craig’s debut photo book with Morel Books is already sold out. Titled “Untitled,” the book is raw and spontaneous, capturing mostly nudes and landscapes. Gaining credibility worldwide, Craig was described by fellow photographer, Gavin Watson: “When I first became aware of [his] work I was shocked. His photos were blurred, fogged, and from a traditional stance, everything that could be wrong with them was. Then his work was published and I really started looking, and suddenly I thought 'this is brilliant.'" Considering the success of this book, we’d imagine another is soon to come, so grab your sleeping bags and get ready to camp out in line. See more of Jonnie Craig's "Untitled" book below.

Teddy Bear Terry releases a new book that shows an intimate look into his family life With portraits, interiors, and letters, Terry Richardson's new book MOM DAD captures his eccentric California mom and late father, Bob Richardson, as he declined in mental health towards the end of his life. The book shows us that Terry comes from two humans who are a far cry from bashful, which makes sense. And of course, Terry is in the book too. This Morel double book is to be one of his most intimate series portrayals and provide new insight into Terry's personal life. But, when lined up beside his Diesel t-shirts, the Terry G-shock watch, Moscot x Terry eyewear, an upcoming book with Lady Ga Ga, Terry skateboards, Uncle Terry toy figures and Terry-faced teddy bears, one wonders if it’s not just another way to take the Terry brand home with you. Terry the son, or Terry the enterprise? Check out some preview images of MOM DAD below.

The late photographer Corinne Day’s photo book to come out this month When you picture Kate Moss circa mid-90s, you're probably visualizing an image created by Corinne Day. And to mark the first year since the artist’s passing, Morel Books (best known for Ryan McGinley’s Moonmilk and Ed Templeton’s Drinking the Kool-Aid) is launching Heaven Is Real, a compilation of the photographer’s most iconic images, as well as an unseen collection of unpublished works and editorial outtakes. Corinne Day’s legacy began when her photograph of teenaged Kate Moss appeared on the cover of THE FACE magazine in 1990. Capturing the candid faces of a young undercurrent generation with honesty and intimacy was her specialty, and a gift to the often-objectifying world of editorial. In the meantime, see more of Corinne Day's work below.
