Those New York Fashion week EMU postcards have made it all the way to beaches of Australia
Well they made it. And by the looks of it you're going to want to wish you went too. During New York Fashion Week, in between shows attendees wrote little notes on postcards to send to the beaches of Australia (Wish you were here!) from the EMU lounge at Elle 360 Style. Once they arrived, EMU Australia took a special trip down the coast delivering the well wishes. Hitting prime places along The Great Ocean Road, an amazing coastline of pristine beaches and boasts some of the best swell in the world (also where the sheepskin boot phenomenon first began), everyone seemed to be quite happy to receive the messages (NY hearts you Australia) but I mean with that weather and reading the postcards in between riding waves and hanging in the sand, how could you not be in a good mood.

Clean barrels, dirty barrelsSitka Surfboards and Pacific Wild present Tipping Barrels: Journey Into The Great Bear, a twenty-minute short that’s one part surfing doc and two parts persuasive environmental journalism. Surfer bros (actually brothers, bros) Arran and Reid Jackson venture through Central and North Coast of B.C., one of the few and largest unspoiled rainforests in the world, into wolf, grizzly, and Kermode spirit bear turf. Directed by Ben Gulliver, this stunning piece pulls at your heartstrings and makes you want to hug a bear, a tree, or even kiss a salmon.
The documentary title Tipping Barrels: journey into the Great Bear plays on a double meaning--while you can find secluded beaches with hollow wave barrels to surf all along The Great Bear coastline, the entire rainforest is currently at risk of being pummeled with the Northern Gateway pipeline, an extremely expensive oil highway that will run from Alberta right through to the West Coast. It will eventually deliver barrels of crude oil to Asian markets, but cause some major problems for the bears.

From big dreams to a surfers dreams, the P.O.P. Pier
From big dreams to ruins to a surfing break. The Pacific Ocean Park Pier was built in the late '50s to compete with Disneyland, within about 10 years the park fell apart. But the pier turned into a popular location for surfers, like the "Dogtown" skateboarders aka Z-Boys (we know you saw the movie). Anthony Friedkin, a young surfer and photographer shot some brilliant photos of the Pier. Warriors of Radness put it on a shirt.
