Get Fit__ Ronda Rousey Wins It All in 34 Seconds
Ronda Rousey, undefeated women’s UFC Bantamweight Champion, defended her title this Saturday and did so in a mere 34 seconds against competitor Bethe Correia. After that, there’s no question why Rousey took home the ESPY for Best Female Athlete and was recently featured in the 2015 Sports Illustrated.
But when there’s a title to defend a little pre-fire (or drama) is necessary. Days before the actual fight Correia said she hopes Rousey wouldn’t kill herself after she lost. Correia deserved to be knocked out in 34 seconds, because the comment made was just uncalled for, and because Rousey’s father died by suicide when she was a young girl. Come on, Correia play nice.
Directly before the fight occurred, Correia taunted Rousey at weigh-ins. According to Fox Sports, after the fight, Rousey said, “I said [to Correia] the exact same thing she was saying to me at the weigh-ins. She was saying 'Don't cry.' So I turned around to her after I knocked her out and I said, 'Don't cry.'"
