Featured__ How To Have A Healthier Vacation
Vacations don’t come around nearly as often as we’d like them to, so when they do, your main priority should be relaxing and enjoying yourself. That doesn’t mean you can’t be health conscious too, though. Doing little things to make your vacation healthier will leave you feeling more refreshed and less drained when you come home. All that greasy food and lying around can really take a toll on a body, so here are a few things you can do to have a healthier vacation.
Instead of jumping in the car or flagging down a cab to take you a few blocks, save yourself a few bucks and a few calories by walking instead. Try walking to dinner to rev up your appetite and burn off some of that pasta on the way home.
While you should make time to lie around and rest, try to keep your vacation as full of activities as possible. There are so many fun and active things to do and see when you’re on vacation, from paddle boarding to ziplining. Squeeze in some fun activities in between lying on the beach and your body will thank you.
Studies show that stress can cause weight gain. Vacations are meant for relaxing, so make sure to do just that. Take care of all your worries before you leave and let yourself enjoy your vacation without thinking about work or other obligations. Letting go of stress is healthy for both your mind and your body.
Eat Healthy Foods
Splurge on dessert, but try to order a healthy entrée. If you like seafood, try fish and fresh veggies, especially if you’re near an ocean. If not, go for chicken or even steak. Eating whole foods like meat and veggies will leave you feeling a lot more energized and less bloated than that fettuccini alfredo.
Go Easy On Yourself
Like we said, your main priority on vacation should always be relaxing and enjoying yourself. If you really want that sweet fruity drink, go for it and keep in mind that a few days of indulging won’t ruin months of hard work.
