Andy Denzler's paintings take us to the Pacific Northwest and then mess with our minds

Think: camping trip, 1993, and Andy Denzler’s latest work comes to life. His paintings are reminiscent of grunge-era, Pacific Northwest autumns, and lonely days spent in shitty motel rooms. Some pieces look like blurry photographs, while others look like film stills from badly warbled VHS tapes. The effect creates a sense of history lost and reminds us that fall, with its cold, dark days, is on its way.

    These particular works derived from VHS film stills remind me of the works of Gerard richter but are more INviting in their composition and colour pallette. Will have to check out the rest
