A first look at the Altuzarra for J. Crew collection, which was inspired by Brigette Bardot

CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner Joseph Altuzarra was inspired by “Brigitte Bardot in Saint-Tropez and French preppy style” for his collaboration with J. Crew. In the second season of pairing CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winners and runners up with sponsor J. Crew, Altuzurra created a seven piece capsule collection that includes skirts, shirts, dresses and shoes and centers on gingham and stripes.

Though the potential for  J. Crew and Altuzarra collaborating could have been amazing, this capsule collection falls short. The interesting thing about collaborations is marrying two brand's history and vision to create something new and exciting. For all this collaboration could have been, Altuzarra's voice seems to have been lost in the J. Crew aesthetic. It looks like it could have been designed by anyone.

Check out the entire Altuzarra for J. Crew collection below and let us know what you think. And get ready for J. Crew collections from runners-up Pamela Love and Creatures of the Wind.
