News__ Leave a Message Film Premiere
Nike 6.0 premieres their new female surf film, Leave a Message. We were there to catch the waves.
"Women's surf is changing, get used to it." Nike 6.0 introduced their women's surf team to the world last night, premiering Leave a Message, a new short film about women's surfing, at the California Science Center in Los Angeles.
The focus of the film was on the sport and the six incredibly talented and inspiring young surfers that make up the Nike 6.0 women's surf team. Carissa Moore, Lakey Peterson, Laura Enever, Coco Ho, Monyca Byrne-Wickey, and Malia Manuel, show off some serious skills in Leave a Message, hitting huge waves, huge aerials and long barrels. Directed by Jason Kenworthy and shot over two years by Aaron Lieber at the world's best surf locations including Hawaii, California, Australia, and Mexico, the message this film left: this generation of women have changed the sport.
The premiere was a blast. Stone's Throw's C.E.O. Peanut Butter Wolf DJ'd, there was popcorn galore, sun kissed hair left right, tans, sticky notes to leave messages (we left our own) and best of all, the Nike female riders. (See pictures of the event below.)
Leave a Message not only showed these six girls ripping giant sized waves, but reminds us that Nike allows young women to pursue their passions. Now Nike, where do we sign up for tutorials?
