Behind the scenes of New York Fashion Week: Samantha Pleet autumn/winter 2012

Samantha Pleet's particular interest in mythologies seemed to carry over this year in a whole new set of interpretations. We saw Byzantine-inspired halos atop some incredibly classical dresses that had a token peasant girl feel in all the right ways. This was manifested in brown boots, understated wool ponchos, and mellow florals that were balanced by breezy-looking golden silks and some opulent cherry red velvet--all with the charm of Aesop's fables and other good old folklore.
